MART-1 (Melanoma antigen recognized by T-cells 1) or Melan-A protein is an antigen found on melanocytes.

This transmembrane protein is strictly expressed in normal skin cells, the retina and melanocytes, but not in other types of physiologically normal tissues.

Therefore it is a useful and specific marker for melanocytic tumors.
