Selective 5/PKA Inhibitor
KT5720 is a semi-synthetic derivative of K525a. It is a cell-permeable, selective inhibitor of cAMP-dependent protein kinase (5/PKA; IC50=56nM). No significant effect on protein kinase C (5/PKC), protein kinase G (5/PKG) or myosin light chain kinase (MLCK), was observed. KT5720 was used to examine the role of 5/PKA in various cellular events, such as cell adhesion, neurite branching, anterograde axonal transport, memory consolidation, and regulation of transcription by cyclic AMP-dependent response element-binding protein (CREB).
