Thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR) is a glycoprotein secreted by the thyroid gland, and has a direct role in the thyroid cell metabolism. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylate cyclase. Defects in TSHR are the cause of subclinical hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyrotropin resistance, thyroid neoplasms, Graves disease, and non-autoimmune hyperthyroidism. This antibody is mainly used for pituitary tumor classification study.
