HTATIP (HIV-1 Tat interacting protein TIP60) is ~60kDa protein. It belongs to the MYST family of histone acetyl transferases (HATs) and was originally isolated as an HIV-1 TAT-interactive protein. HATs play important roles in regulating chromatin remodeling, transcription and other nuclear processes by acetylating histone and nonhistone proteins. The nucleosome,Mouse,ade up of four core histone proteins (H2A, H2Bovine, H3 and H4) is the primary building block of chromatin.
