This is a synthetic peptide designed for use in combination with anti-STAT1 antibody (Catalogue #: ARP38934_P050) made by Aviva Systems Biology. It may block above mentioned antibody from binding to its target protein in western blot and/or immunohistochecmistry under proper experimental settings. There is no guarantee for its use in other applications. Please inquire for more details.

Target: STAT1 is a member of the STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. This protein can be activated by various ligands including interferon-alpha, interferon-gamma, EGF, PDGF and IL6. This protein mediates the expression of a variety of genes, which is thought to be important for cell viability in response to different cell stimuli and pathogens.Western blots using four different antibodies against three unique regions of this protein target confirm the same apparent molecular weight in our tests. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the STAT protein family. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
