Purified anti-IkB-alpha

IkappaB-alpha isan inhibitory protein that binds the NFkappaB complex and retains this complex in the cytoplasm where it cannot activate transcription. Upon cellular stimulation, the IkappaB proteins are phosphorylated and degraded via the ubiquitin pathway allowing nuclear translocation of NFkappaB. The NFkappaB complex binds DNA to activate gene expression of a number of a variety of proteins involved in inflammation, cellular proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Poly6249 recognizes the C-terminal region of human, mouse, rat IKB-alpha and has been shown to be useful for Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemistry.

For IHC, use a 1:50 dilution of antibody for staining. Antigen retrieval for IHC of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue using 0.01 M sodium citrate buffer is recommended. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
