The prolactin-releasing hormone receptor (PRRP) is a G-protein coupled receptor that binds the prolactin releasing hormone.PRLHR is a 7-transmembrane domain receptor for prolactin-releasing hormone that is highly expressed in anterior pituitary
By screening a placenta genomic DNA library, followed by 5-prime and 3-prime RACE of pituitary and adenoma cDNA libraries, Ozawa et al. (2002) isolated a full-length cDNA encoding PRLHR, which they called PRRPR. They identified multiple transcription start sites. The predicted 370-amino acid protein contains 7 hydrophobic regions. Northern blot analysis revealed expression of a 2.2-kb transcript in pituitary adenomas.
