Methotre, Xenopus/Amphibian,ate (MT, Xenopus/Amphibian,) is an antimetabolite and antifolate drug used in treatment of cancer, autoimmune diseases and as an abortifacient in the induction of medical abortions. Methotre, Xenopus/Amphibian,ate inhibits the metabolism of folic acid. Methotre, Xenopus/Amphibian,ate began to replace the more powerful and to, Xenopus/Amphibian,ic antifolate aminopterin starting in the 1950s, and the two should not be confused.
