This is a synthetic peptide designed for use in combination with anti-MCAM Antibody (ARP63483_P050), made by Aviva Systems Biology. It may block above mentioned antibody from binding to its target protein in western blot and/or immunohistochecmistry under proper experimental settings. There is no guarantee for its use in other applications. Please inquire for more details.
Reactivities: Human
Presku: AAP63483
Size: 100ug
Weight: 71kDa
Gene: The peptide is characterized by mass spectroscopy
Format: Lyophilized powder
Target: MCAM plays a role in cell adhesion, and in cohesion of the endothelial monolayer at intercellular junctions in vascular tissue. Its expression may allow melanoma cells to interact with cellular elements of the vascular system, thereby enhancing hematogeneous tumor spread. MCAM could be an adhesion molecule active in neural crest cells during embryonic development. MCAM acts as surface receptor that triggers tyrosine phosphorylation of FYN and PTK2, and a transient increase in the intracellular calcium concentration.
Alternative names: CD146; MUC18
