Mitogen-activated protein kinase 1 (MAP kinase 1) is involved in both the initiation and regulation of meiosis,Mouse, itosis, and postmitotic functions in differentiated cells by phosphorylating a number of transcription factors such as ELK1. MAP kinase 1 acts as a transcriptional repressor. MAP kinase 1 binds to a [GC]AAA[GC] consensus sequence. MAP kinase 1 represses the e, Xenopus/Amphibian,pression of interferon gamma-induced genes. MAPK1 is activated by phosphorylation on Thr-185 and Tyr-187 in response to insulin and NGF. Both phosphorylations are required for activity. This antibody binds to the diphosphorylated form.
