This is a synthetic peptide designed for use in combination with anti-Katna1 Antibody (ARP52277_P050), made by Aviva Systems Biology. It may block above mentioned antibody from binding to its target protein in western blot and/or immunohistochecmistry under proper experimental settings. There is no guarantee for its use in other applications. Please inquire for more details.
Reactivities: Mouse
Presku: AAP52277
Size: 100ug
Weight: 54kDa
Gene: The peptide is characterized by mass spectroscopy
Format: Lyophilized powder
Target: Katna1 severs microtubules in vitro in an ATP-dependent manner. This activity may promote rapid reorganization of cellular microtubule arrays, such as that seen during disassembly of interphase microtubules at the G2-M transition. It may also be required for microtubule release from the centrosome after nucleation. In mitotic spindles this could allow depolymerization of the microtubule end proximal to the centrosome, and subsequent poleward microtubule flux. In neurons, microtubule release within the cell body allows their subsequent transport into neuronal processes by microtubule dependent motor proteins. This transport is required for axonal growth.
