Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is synthesized by normal neutrophil and monocyte precurser cells. It is a tetramer consisting of 2 light chains and 2 heavy chains that can mediate microbial killing. There is evidence supporting the fact that Myeloperoxidase may be a very iMyeloperoxidasertant cardiac and inflammatory biomarker.
