This is a synthetic peptide designed for use in combination with anti-Hsd17b12 Antibody (ARP47217_P050), made by Aviva Systems Biology. It may block above mentioned antibody from binding to its target protein in western blot and/or immunohistochecmistry under proper experimental settings. There is no guarantee for its use in other applications. Please inquire for more details.
Reactivities: Human, Mouse
Presku: AAP47217
Size: 100ug
Weight: 35kDa
Gene: 56348
Format: Lyophilized powder
Target: Hsd17b12 catalyzes the transformation of estrone (E1) into estradiol (E2), suggesting a central role in estrogen formation. Its strong expression in ovary and mammary gland suggest that it may constitute the major enzyme responsible for the conversion of E1 to E2 in females. Hsd17b12 also has 3-ketoacyl-CoA reductase activity, reducing both long chain 3-ketoacyl-CoAs and long chain fatty acyl-CoAs, suggesting a role in long fatty acid elongation.
