mu-Conotoxin SIIIA. A Blocker of TTX-Sensitive Nav1.2, Nav1.3 and Nav1.4 Voltage-Gated Na+ Channels.
mu-Conotoxin SIIIA is a synthetic peptide purified to homogeneity, originally isolated from the Conus striatus venom. mu-Conotoxin SIIIA reversibly blocks TTX-sensitive voltage-gated Na+ channels in small-diameter DRG neurons.
It also irreversibly blocks NaV1.2, NaV1.3 and NaV1.4 channels expressed in Xenopus oocytes in a dose- and time-dependent manner. No inhibition is detected on Nav1.5, Nav1.7 or Nav1.8 channels.
