Selective PKA Inhibitor
KT5720 is a semi-synthetic derivative of K525a. It is a cell-permeable, selective inhibitor of cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA; IC50=56nM). No significant effect on protein kinase C (PKC), protein kinase G (PKG) or myosin light chain kinase (MLCK), was observed. KT5720 was used to examine the role of PKA in various cellular events, such as cell adhesion, neurite branching, anterograde axonal transport, memory consolidation, and regulation of transcription by cyclic AMP-dependent response element-binding protein (CREB).
