Hemitoxin. A Potent Blocker of Kv1.1, Kv1.2 and Kv1.3 K+ Channels.
Hemitoxin is a 35 amino acid peptidyl toxin isolated from the Hemiscorpius lepturus scorpion venom and belongs to theaKTx6 family1. It reversibly blocks Kv1.1, Kv1.2 and Kv1.3 voltage-gated K+ channels with an IC50 of 13 nM, 16 nM and 2 nM, respectively.
It shares 80% sequence similarity with Maurotoxin, and has a unique pairing of its four disulfide bridges.
