Butyrylcholinesterase (BtChE, EC 3.1.1.8.) is synthetizised in the liver, and is predominantly found in serum, liver and pancreas. Butyrylcholinesterase is a tetrameric glycoprotein (molecular mass of 350 kDa), and consists of four subunits, each with molecular mass of 90 kDa. This antibody is specific for butyrylcholinesterase from human serum or plasma. Crossreactivity to BtChE from other species has not been tested.
