Interferon-gamma is a potent multifunctional cytokine which is secreted primarily by activated NK cells and T cells. Originally characterized based on anti-viral activities, IFN-gamma also exerts anti-proliferative, immunoregulatory, and proinflammatory activities. IFN-gamma can upregulate MHC class I and II antigen expression by antigen-presenting cells.

Dilutions: Use when high specific biological activity is required.
Storage buffer: Unopened vial can be stored from -20C to -70C for six months. For maximum results, quick spin vial prior to opening. Stock solutions should be prepared at no less than 10 microg/ml in buffer containing carrier protein such as 1% BSA or HSA or 10% FBS. After dilution, the cytokine can be stored at 4C for one month or from -20C to -70C for up to 3 months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
