The assay measures total human Factor XII in the 0.1-100 ng/mL range. Samples giving human Factor XII levels above 100ng/mL should be diluted in blocking buffer before use. A 1:1,000 to 1:5,000 dilution for plasma is suggested for best results. The concentration of Factor XII in normal human plasma has been found to be 29 �g/mL, with variation among individuals from 15 to 47 �g/mL. Another series of studies found values in the 35-40 �g/mL range.
